I'd recommend that you either invest in the tutorials on how to use RT, which is an advanced raw processor, or, perhaps better, turn to the software that came with your camera, since it's optimized to start off at a baseline with perhaps better processing than you are experiencing with RT. The jpegs that you say look "fine" in RT are already processed, and RT is showing them as they are. For me, any raw converter is designed to let the user do some editing of the raw file along the way before conversion to some other format - like jpeg, TIFF. You have not said what type of raw files you are working with (camera model), nor what you expect from using RawTherapee (or any raw converter for that matter).
And so the "issue" you state in your last sentence is not an issue and has no "fix" as such. It is just displaying them AS THEY ARE - unprocessed. I also disclaim any specific knowledge of RawTherapee, but I can assert that it is NOT doing anything weird or wrong to your raw files. I have quoted your title as well, because it describes the wrong sort of problem. Anybody else experiencing this kind of issue? And if so, is there any fix? I don't want to put extra effort into saturating my images and denoising which reduces sharpness (something that doesn't need to be done to the same files but on Darktable). I read online that Raw files are naturally dull and noisy because they're completely unmodified so I always put the effort into fixing the saturation and denoising (which has its drawbacks to the final export) - but recently I opened Raw files in other software and file viewers, and they look so much better than viewed in RawTherapee! My guess is that some enabled setting is causing this undesirable mess. However, Raw files look awful they're very unsaturated (nearly monochromatic) and extremely noisy. JPEGs look fine when loaded into RawTherapee.
